The Dante Society is our group for graduate students and anybody beyond college interested in fostering the Christian intellectual life in Pittsburgh. All seminars are free of charge. Invite your friends!

From Fall 2025 through Spring 2026 we are hosting a virtual book club of The Brothers Karamazov on alternating Thursdays from 7-8PM. Dr. James DeMasi and guests lecturers will lead each meeting. RSVP for any one night and you’ll be added to the mailing list for each meeting!

At the end of the book club, in Spring 2026, Dr. Elise Lonich Ryan will give our annual seminar on the Problem of Evil, taking The Brothers Karamazov as her subject. It is in anticipation of this lecture that The Dante Society works through this masterpiece of world literature.
