Since the dawn of philosophy, nature--or even the existence--of the human soul have been of preeminent concern. In this seminar, we explore the Christian contribution to this debate. In nearly every tradition--East and West--the soul is associated with the principle of life, and the Christian tradition is no exception. Christianity synthesizes two of the dominant philosophical traditions concerning the soul, Aristotelianism and Platonism, in a beautiful harmony of ideas. This seminar will be led by Dr. James DeMasi, Associate Director of Beatrice Institute.
