FCI Seminar 6: Augustine on the sacrament of Christ's death and resurrection: De Trinitate IV

Augustine follows ancient tradition in holding that human beings have a dual nature: we are mortal (or physical) creatures and spiritual (or intellectual) creatures. However, this ancient view suffers from an inability to keep these two natures together, requiring that human beings make a tragic choice between them. Christ's death and resurrection provide the solution, giving us the ability to harmonize our two natures in a way not before possible.

This seminar will be led by Michael Lang, University of Pittsburgh.
