Acts 17:26 famously declares that "God has made from one [blood] every nation (ethnos) to dwell on all the face of the earth, and allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live ..." Like debates over the Christian doctrine of God's life in Trinity, Acts 17 underscores the uncomfortable tension that accompanies human diversity across the shared "unity" of the earth.
