An ambitious collection of poems that reckon with life and death through the point of view of famous speakers throughout history and literature, spanning from Penelope to Frankenstein’s monster.
Forester McClatchey is a poet and painter from Atlanta, GA. He is the author of Killing Orpheus (2026) and the winner of the 2026 First Things Poetry Prize. His work appears in 32 Poems, Southern Review, and Hopkins Review, among other journals.
Poet Jason Barry will open for Forester, and the poetry reading will be followed by a dessert & drinks reception!

Jason Barry holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Boston University, where he was a Robert Pinsky Global Fellow, and an MSc in Applied Linguistics from the University of Oxford. A finalist for the Donald Justice Prize, his work has appeared in The Southern Review, Subtropics, 32 Poems, Barrow Street, Poetry Ireland Review, The Adroit Journal, Literary Matters, Cimarron Review, The Cortland Review, and elsewhere. His chapbook, Fossil & Wing, won the Wil Mills Award from the West Chester University Poetry Center, and his work has been featured on The Slowdown. He has been offered artist scholarships and grants from the Poetry Society of America, Poetry by the Sea, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
